We had just brought our first home which was a “do up” that needed refurbishing
from top to bottom. Our budget wasn’t huge and we wanted window coverings that were
smart, clean and looked great but that didn’t cost a fortune. The first room we
looked at doing was our bedroom – the most important room we felt to have blinds
in. I started my research by looking around the main curtain making shops in town
but they were all really expensive. I then decided to have a look online to see
what I could get. This is when I came across makeablind.com. I found the site easy
to use and follow but was especially impressed with the calculator. This allows
you to have a really good play with prices when using different fabrics for different
blind sizes. I went back 5 or 6 times onto makeablind.com, each time I did a little
more research to check things out. I was also looking at blind making stores during
this time to see how they compared – I quickly figured out that they were a lot
more expensive. I also thought the tutorials were fantastic – especially the ones
discussing how to measure for blinds. This was the one area I was a little concerned
about, that if I didn’t measure them properly they might not fit or look right.
The tutorials were really helpful; they explained how to measure for your blinds
fully and had really easy to follow visuals and diagrams. The tutorials definitely
put my mind at ease. When the blinds arrived we were really pleased. The blinds
were easy to put up and were everything we wanted – smart, clean, they looked fantastic
and they didn’t cost a fortune. We are still in the process of finishing our house
and I will definitely be using makeablind.com for the rest of my windows when the
time comes

We had a large window space in our open plan kitchen/living dining area, greater
than 2 metres wide, which we wanted a roller blind for. The lack of a blind was
affecting our comfort in using our living areas as it was freezing in winter and
too hot in summer. (The window was over the sink and bench area, so we couldn’t
curtain it). I had looked around locally for a blind but as my window was not a
standard size, I could not find anything readymade to fit. When I looked into getting
a blind made, the prices were really expensive. I was then referred to makeablind.com.
Makeablind.com allowed me to easily order a roller blind that fit my large window
perfectly at a really good price that I was happy to pay. The process was easy and
intuitive and, once I had the measurements, very fast. We received the blind quickly
and were really pleased with both the quality of the blind and the fit. Since we
installed it in the winter we noticed that our living areas were quicker to heat
up and stayed warm, and it is already helping to stop the house from getting too
hot now the weather is warming up. I have referred friends who need blinds to makeablind.com
and would use them again for any blinds in my own home.

possibility. I went onto Trademe looking for blinds for sale and saw a link to makeablind.com
and decided to take a look. I particularly liked the fact that makeablind.com is
a New Zealand company; I would've thought twice about ordering blinds from an overseas
company. I was really impressed with how easy the makeablind.com site was to use.
I liked that fact I could play with the system, to relax back and look at all the
options. With all the prices available you could change and spend as much or as
little as you wanted, flexibility was definitely a benefit. I did a little research
and went into stores to check out different fabric samples and prices and found
store prices a lot higher than what makeablind.com was offering. They really were
excellent value for money. When ordering my blinds, I found the website very easy
to follow and understand and the 0800 number was always displayed which gave me
confidence that there was someone available if I had any queries. When I got the
blinds and my husband hung them I was absolutely over the moon. They were a real
quality product with nothing cheap or shabby about them or the finish. They look
fantastic and give us the privacy and blackout facility we were after. I would have
no hesitation in using makeablind.com for ordering further blinds or referring friends
to the site.
